Obituary of Martell, Joseph Alexander
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, November 5th, 2021 of Joseph Alexander Martell of Summerside, aged 84 years. Joseph was born in Rockdale, Cape Breton, NS. to the late Desira and Margaret (Marchand) Martell.
Beloved husband of the late Edna (Doucette) Martell and loving father of Diana (Claude) Curley and Linda Martell. Also lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren Lacey, Jordan and Sasha and 2 great grandchildren Kitana and Kiara.
Survived by his brother Edward (Carol) Martell, sister Betty Nicholson all of Nova Scotia and several nieces and nephew.
Predeceased by his daughter Shirley Anne Williams and his sister Viola Clark.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private funeral mass will be held at St. Paul's Church, Summerside. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Joseph's memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
