Obituary of McLean, " Scottie " Murdock Jerome
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 of "Scottie" Murdock Jerome McLean of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 81 years. Scottie was born on November 27th, 1931 in Glace Bay, C.B., N.S. to his late parents, Angus and Mary MacLean.
Beloved husband of Joan ( nee Jennings ) McLean and loving father of Brian of Edmonton, AB., Brent ( Susan ) of Summerside and Kevin of Moncton, N.B. . Also lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren Madeline, Amy and Jenny and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister Marjorie Petite of Glace Bay, N.S..
Besides his parents, Scottie was predeceased by his son Scot David in infancy, his sisters Viola Cote, Mary ( Tom ) Butts and Isabel Mac Lean Bowen and brother-in-law Art Petite.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, June 29th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Scottie's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m..
Comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 5, Summerside will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home on Friday evening at 5:45 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
