Obituary of Poirier, Mary Ann

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, June 14th , 2013 of Mary Ann ( nee Gaudet ) Poirier of Wellington and formally of St. Nicholas, P.E.I., aged 93 years. Mary was born on June 20th 1919 in St. Nicholas, P.E.I. to her late parents, Arthur and Delima ( nee DesRoches ) Gaudet. Beloved wife of the late Martin Poirier and loving mother of Delima ( John ) Skrastins, Ann( Terry ) McCoy, Jennie Bukacheski, Vincent ( Betty ), Stephen( Margaret ), Pauline ( Bob ) June, Arthur ( Gloria ), Roger, David ( Ruby ) and Eric ( Amber ). Also lovingly remembered by her son-in-law Dave Foley, her 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by her sisters Eunice ( Kenny ) Hamilton and Sr. Dina Gaudet. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her daughter Dorothy in infancy, her son Albert ( Dianne ), daughter Yvonne Foley, grandson Steve Poirier, son-in-law Don Bukacheski , brothers Martin and Adrian and sisters Leona, Rita and Celine. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, June 17th , then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Mary's memory to St. John the Baptist Cemetery Fund or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
