Obituary of Doucette, Marlyn Doris
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside , P.E.I. on Wednesday, May 22nd , 2013 of Marlyn Doris Doucette ( nee Wadman ) of Summerside, P.E.I. , aged 70 years. Marlyn was born on August 30th , 1942 in Kensington, P.E.I. to her late parents, Preston and Jean ( nee Burgess ) Wadman.
Beloved mother of Tanya Doucette ( Eddie O'Brien ) of Summerside and her deceased daughter Kendra Blacquiere and their father Willard Doucette. Also lovingly remembered by her son-in-law Michael Blacquiere, her 2 granddaughters Amanda and Marissa Blacquiere and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brother Kenny ( Shirley ) Wadman of Summerside.
Besides her parents, Marlyn was predeceased by her brother Emerson in childhood.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Sunday, May 26th , then to the Summerside Church of the Nazarene for funeral service at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Marlyn's memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Saturday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
