Obituary of Gaudet, Joseph "Leonard"
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, May 16th, 2013 of Joseph "Leonard" Gaudet of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 87 years. Leonard was born on February 26th , 1926 in St.Nicholas to his late parents Emmanuel and Margaret ( nee Poirier ) Gaudet.
Beloved husband of Mary ( nee Perry ) Gaudet and loving father of Bernadette ( Jim ) Isles of Mt. Uniacke, N.S., Dianne ( Chesley ) MacAusland of Miscouche, and daughter-in-law Beverly Gaudet of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Melissa ( Aiden ), James, Shawn, Christopher ( Courtney ), Christine, Jeremy, great granddaughter Chloe and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brother Adrian (Jean ) Gaudet of Summerside and sister-in-law Theresa Gaudet of Egmont-Bay.
Besides his parents Leonard was predeceased by his son Charlie and brothers Alfred ( Frances ) and Bill, sisters Florence ( Leo ) Perry and Edna in childhood.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, May 20th, then to the St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Leonard's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. John the Baptist Cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
