Obituary of McKinnon, Irene Mary

The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside , P.E.I. on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 of Irene Mary ( nee O'Brien ) McKinnon of Summerside and formerly of Elmsdale, P.E.I., aged 93 years. Irene was born on August 2nd, 1919 in Elmsdale, P.E.I. to her late parents Austin and Gertude ( nee O'Halloran ) O'Brien. Wife of the late Fred McKinnon and loving mother of Raymond ( Sheila ) of Charlottetown, Reggie ( Beryl ) of Pennsylvania, USA., Roger of Summerside, Carolann ( Nabil ) El Hadi of Fredericton, N.B., Wilbert ( Stef ) of Wasaga Beach, ON., Howard ( Maggie ) of Truro, NS., Mary ( Harry ) Hutchinson, Lorraine ( Wilfred ) Smith, Geraldine ( Ivan ) Gallant and Justin McKinnon all of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Audrey Shea of Alberton. Besides her parents and husband, Irene was predeceased by her great-grand daughter Payton McKinnon and brother in-law Clifford Shea. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, April 16th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel, Summerside at 10:00 A.M.. Interment to take place in St.Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Donation's in Irene's memory to Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
