Obituary of Bendell, Edith Ada
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside , P.E.I. on Saturday, January 5th , 2013 of " Edith " Ada Bendell ( nee MacDonald ) of Summerside and formerly of Glenwood, P.E.I. , aged 84 years. Edith was born on March 31st , 1928 in Glenwood, P.E.I. to her late parents Atwood and Cora ( nee Gorrill ) MacDonald.
Beloved wife of Freeman " Pat " Bendell . Also lovingly remembered by her sisters Nancy Lecky of Cornwall and Wanda ( Lorne ) Adams of Knutsford and her nephews Kevin ( Crystal ) Adams of O'Leary and Brian ( Janet ) Adams of Charlottetown.
Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her brother-in-law Barry Lecky and her nephew Dale Adams.
By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Interment to take place at a later date in the Dunblane Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in Edith's memory to the Dunblane Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated and may be made at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
