Obituary of Phelan, Leslie David
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside , P.E.I. on Thursday, November 29th , 2012 of Leslie David Phelan of Miscouche, P.E.I. and formerly of Halifax, N.S., aged 68 years. Leslie was born on November 11th , 1944 in Halifax, N.S. to his late parents Joseph and Hilda ( nee Kenny ) Phelan.
Beloved husband of Phyllis ( nee Elms ) Phelan and loving father of Duane Phelan of Edmonton, AB. and stepson Paul Lischynski of Miscouche, P.E.I.. Also lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren Joseph Phelan and Nichole and Nathalie Lischynski. Survived by his two brothers Kenneth ( Isabel ) of Sackville, N.B. and Claude of Hammonds Plains, N.S. and his sister Betty ( Kenny ) Edwards, also of Hammonds Plains, N.S..
Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his brother Patrick and sister-in-law Geri Phelan.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, December 4th , then to People's Cemetery , Summerside for a committal service at 11:00 a.m. . Visiting hours on Monday evening only, 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Leslie's memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 18, Miscouche will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:45 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
