Obituary of Woodland, Irwin Warren
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital on Sunday, September 23rd , 2012 of Irwin Warren Woodland of Summerside and formerly of Indian River, aged 76 years. Irwin was born on February 1st, 1936, in New Waterford Cape Breton, N.S. to his late parents William and Lillian ( Walsh ) Woodland. Retired member of the R.C.A.F. and Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans.
Beloved husband of Anne( nee Nelson) Woodland and loving father of Billy (Sandy) Woodland of Kingston, ON., Lynn Woodland (Barry Folland of Cape Travers, P.E.I. and Wayne (Kathy) Woodland of Bedford, N.S. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Paul Hanchard, Steven Woodland, Katherine (Shane) MacLennan, Elizabeth( James)Wall, Alex Wall and Laura Woodland . Great grandchildren Alexis and Robyn MacLennan and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following sisters Anne (Jody) Orr and Jackie (Dave) Hunt of ON., son in-law Roger Wall of Kensington, brother in-law and sisters in-law of Edinburgh, Scotland. Fondly missed by his dog Hamish.
Besides his parents, Irwin was predeceased by his son Brian in infancy and brother Orington Woodland.
By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral held. Memorial donations in Irwin's memory to the P.E.I.Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
