Obituary of McMillan, Devona " Peggy "
The death occurred peacefully at Andrews Lodge, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, August 7th , 2012 of Devona "Peggy" McMillan ( nee MacDonald ) , aged 93 years. Peggy was born on July 16th , 1919 in Lot 16, P.E.I. to her late parents Bernard and Annie ( nee Laughlin ) MacDonald. Beloved wife of the late Joe McMillan.
Survived by her son Grant ( Mae ) and daughters Mary Grant, Rita ( Joe ) O'Donnell, Jean ( Wayne ) St. Louis, Joan ( John ) Arnold, Judy ( Frank ) Gallant, Gail ( Kelly ) McLeod and Vicki. Also lovingly remembered by her sister Mary Ramsay along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Peggy was predeceased by her five sons : Louis, George, James, Pat and Gary.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, August 10th , then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peggy's memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
