Obituary of Kilbride, Vincent " Vince " Lorne
The death occurred peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Tofield Health Centre, Tofield , Alberta on March 3, 2012 of Vincent "Vince" Lorne Kilbride of Lindbrook , AB and formerly of Vancouver, B.C. and Bayside, P.E.I. , aged 59 years. Vince was born on April 5th , 1952 to his mother Elizabeth "Betty" ( nee McNeill ) and his late father Lorne Kilbride.
Known for his genuine interest in people and his wonderful sense of humor, he was loved by many and quick to make friends wherever he lived or worked. His work as a welder/pipefitter took him to many places with his last employment in Fort McMurray.
He is survived by his mother Betty Kilbride; siblings Allison (Hazel), Paula (Mark) O'Connor, Ann (John) MacDonald and Mike (Irene); adoring nieces and nephews, and his many relatives and friends.
Besides his father, Vince was predeceased by his brother Darrell.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, March 10th , then to St. Patrick's Church, Grand River for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Vince's memory to St. Patrick's Church Building Fund or to St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
