Obituary of Deighan, Rose Marie
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, January 6th , 2012 of 'Rose' Marie Deighan ( nee O'Keefe ) of Summerside, aged 84 years. Rose was born on November 19th, 1927 in Grand Falls, Nfld. to her late parents Charles and Mary ( nee Griffin ) O'Keefe.
Beloved wife of the late Charles W. Deighan and loving mother of Gertrude ( Mike ) Trainor of Shamrock, Sheila ( Joe ) Laughlin of Summerside, Ernest of Summerside, Charles ( So-Hee) of Charlottetown, Ronald of Summerside, Helen Beach of Greenwood, N.S. and Colin ( Stephanie ) of Toronto, ON.. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Keefe & Angela Deighan, Ryan, Andrew & Alisha Laughlin, Ian, Griffin & Janet Beach, Bridget & Clara Deighan and many nieces and nephews. Survived by her sisters Monica McNeill of Summerside and Ann O'Keefe of Truro, N.S., her brothers & sisters in-law Sister Mary Deighan, Greg ( Pauline ) Deighan, Ethel ( Austin ) Pendergast, Kay Coady, Frank ( Carol ) Deighan, Isabel Tuck, Sabina Keefe, Rita Stanych, Bea Deighan and Herb DeLong.
Besides her parents and husband, Rose was predeceased by her daughters Elaine & Rosemary, brothers Cyril & Bernard and sisters Gertrude DeLong & Marie Shallow.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, January 10th , 2012 , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Monday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Rose's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
