Obituary of O'Brien, Mae Anna
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, January 1st, 2012 of Mae Anna O'Brien ( nee Poirier ) of Summerside, aged 73 years. Mae was born on April 29th , 1938 in Mont Carmel, P.E.I. to her late parents Edward & Alice ( nee Downing ) Poirier.
Beloved wife of the late Ernest O'Brien and loving mother of Stephen of Edmonton, AB., Alan ( Donna ) of Summerside, Joan ( Eric ) Norgren of Ottawa, ON., Eric of Charlottetown and Christine ( Emmanuel ) Costain of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters : Mark Poirier , Fran ( Bob ) Sharkey and Peter ( Ann ) Poirier all of Summerside, Bob ( Pauline ) Poirier of Ontario and John ( Louise ) Poirier of Fernie, B.C. .
Besides her husband and parents, Mae was predeceased by her niece Bev Montgomery.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, January 5th , 2012 then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours onWednesday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Mae's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated . Arrangements entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
