Obituary of DeCoste, " Yvonne " Syble
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, November 27th , 2011 of 'Yvonne' Syble DeCoste ( nee Jenkins ) of Summerside, P.E.I. , aged 76 years. Yvonne was born on April 19th , 1935 in Murray Harbour, P.E.I. to her late parents W.E. and Edna W. Jenkins.
Loving mother of Deborah ( Michael 'Fee' ) Quinn , Denise Millan of Calgary, AB., Karen Decoste of Summerside, Sharon ( Walter ) Gallant of Summerside, Wayne ( Kelly ) of Halifax, N.S. and Joe ( Barb ) Young of New Jersey, U.S.A. . Also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews . Survived by her sister Wilma ( Eddie ) McNeill of Sarnia, ON. and sisters-in-law Wilena Gillis of St. Eleanors and Marie Jenkins of Summerside.
Besides her parents, Yvonne was predeceased by brothers Lester and Bennett Jenkins and sisters Roma Phaneuf and Olive 'Babe' Powell.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday , November 30th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Following cremation, interment to take place at a later date in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Yvonne's memory to the Summerside Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
