Obituary of Campbell, John " Scotty " Howard
The death occurred at his late residence on Thursday, August 25th , 2011 of John H. 'Scotty' Campbell of Linkletter Beach Road, P.E.I. , aged 87 years. Scotty was born on October 24th , 1923 in Coleman, Alberta to his late parents Ephriam and Bertha Campbell.
Beloved husband of the late Marjorie ( nee Horsley ) Campbell and loving father of John ( Sally ) of Halifax, N.S., Katherine ( Mark ) Linkletter of Summerside , Susan Blair of Sechelt, B.C. and Sharon ( Bill ) Shaw of Vancouver, B.C. . Also lovingly remembered by his 8 grandchildren : Matthew, Tyler, Laura, Spencer, Erin, Jonathan, Ian and Alexander.
Besides his parents and his wife, Scotty was predeceased by a brother Robert.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, August 29th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Following cremation , interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in Scotty's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday morning only , from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
