Obituary of Campbell, LeRoy Verne
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, August 14th, 2011 of LeRoy Campbell of Kensington, P.E.I.. LeRoy was born on Nov. 2nd, 1924 in Irishtown, to his late parents Preston & Etta (nee Arthur) Campbell.
Survived by his wife of 68 years Ruby (nee Cotton) Campbell; his children Kathryn (George) Doughart and special son Jason Silliker (Melanie Bertrand); grandchildred Carrie & Ronda Campbell, Gordon & Allison Doughart, Maggie & Danny Campbell and Cayden Silliker; great grandchildren Carson & Caitlyn Doughart; brother Arthur (Roma) and nephew Roy.
Besides his parents, LeRoy was predeceased by his son Ronald.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, August 18th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Springbrook. Donations may be made to Kensington Meals on Wheels. Visiting hours on Wednesday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
