Obituary of Arsenault, Azele " Hazel " Marie
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, June 29th , 2011 of Azele "Hazel" Marie Arsenault of St. Eleanors , P.E.I. , aged 87 years. Hazel was born on October 25th, 1923 in Cape Egmont, P.E.I. to her late parents Andre & Mary Anne ( nee Gallant ) Arsenault .
Beloved wife of the late Wilfred "Freddie" Arsenault and loving mother of David ( Bayna ) of St. Eleanors, Roma ( Ronald ) Gallant of Miscouche, Yvonne ( Armand ) Allard of Ottawa, Melvin ( Manon ) of Alymer P.Q., Claudette ( Roger ) Walsh of Alymer, P.Q. and Ella Arsenault of Ottawa. Special friend of Clarence Gallant of Summerside . Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Tara, Shane ( Sarah) , Kevin & Melissa Arsenault, Jodi, Kris & Andre Allard & Sarah Walsh and great-grandchildren Kyler & Kayden Burt and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brother Donat ( Rose Marie ) Arsenault of St. Eleanors, brother-in-law Alcide Arsenault of Summerside and sister-in-law Lucille Cochran of Vancouver, B.C.
Besides her parents and husband Hazel was predeceased by her brothers Adrien & John Pierre Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, July 2nd, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Friday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Hazel's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Prince County Hospital Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
