Obituary of DesRoche, Dianne Lynn
Dianne Lynn DesRoche (nee Friesen), with indomitable spirit and quiet dignity surrendered to cancer at the Prince County Hospital on Monday, June 6, 2011, in the company of her loving husband, Reginald, and some of her closest friends. Dianne was born in Gimli, Manitoba, on August 31, 1948 and was a young 62 years of age when she left us.
Dianne was the daughter of Joseph John and Myrna Friesen of Gimli, Manitoba, and beloved mother of Renalda and David and a special step-mother to Parker McKinnon (Taylor), Cheryl (Carlos Sanchez) and Carly and Curtis DesRoche.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jo-Anne and brother, Randy and is survived by sisters Donna and Debbie, and brothers Robert and Timmy. Dianne was the very proud grandmother of 6 children, the youngest, Sydney, being the light of her life. She also enjoyed a very large circle of friends, who will miss her dearly.
At the request of Reg and Dianne, there will not be a traditional viewing. Her mortal remains will be cremated and family will receive friends at the East Prince Funeral Home on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. A celebration of her life will follow at 4:00 at the home of Mary and Ross Woodside of 118 Gaudet Crescent, Summerside. Donor cards will be made available for those who wish to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Prince County Hospital in her name.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
