Obituary of Harris, Donald Ernest
Donald Ernest Harris passed away peacefully at his home in Summerside , P.E.I. on Wednesday, May 18th , 2011 . Donald was born on May 29th, 1932 in Summerside, P.E.I. to his late parents, Ernest & Edna ( nee Miller ) Harris.
He is survived by his children Jill ( Craig Marshall ) Harris and Gordon Harris of Muskoka, ON., Peter ( Crystal Praught ) Harris of Summerside, Patricia ( Leigh ) Adams of Spring Valley, Michael ( Beverly ) Cass of Margate, Christopher ( Patsi Ellis ) Cass of Rosslind, AB. and David ( Darlene ) Cass of Summerside. Step grandfather to Skyler, Sheri, Tasha, Melissa, Alisha, Shea-Lee, Olivia, Emma , Paige, Tasha, Terry and 'his girl' Emma Kate. Also survived by sister Anna Brimson of Quispamsis, N.B., sisters-in-law : Eleanor Harris of Summerside, Jean Arsenault of Richmond, Jessie Graham of Alberton, Sylvia ( Keith ) Barrett of Belmont, Goldie MacArthur of Lot 16, Margaret Woodside of Burlington, Valerie Woodside of Margate and brothers-in-law : Willard ( Anne ) MacArthur of Alberta, Donald Woodside of Seaview, George Pickering of Kensington, Nelson Caseley & Charles Schurman of Summerside. Uncle to numerous nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased recently by his beloved wife Margaret ( MacArthur ) Cass and his first wife Barbara Woodside as well as brother James Harris, sisters and brothers-in-law Mike Brimson, Bonnie Schurman, Phyllis ( Lyle ) Hawkins, Rena Pickering, Ruth Caseley, Douglas, Ross and Scott Woodside and Ina Woodside.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, May 21st where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. . A private family interment to take place at a later date. Visiting hours on Friday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donald's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation, East Prince Home Care Program or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
