Obituary of Arsenault, Howard James
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Friday, April 1st, 2011 of Howard James Arsenault of Summerside and formerly of Carleton, Lot 6, P.E.I., aged 94 years. Howard was born on February 28, 1917 in Carleton, Lot 6 to his late parents, Frederick & Mary Arsenault .
Beloved husband of the late Bernice ( nee Doiron ) Arsenault and loving father of Adele of Charlottetown, Jimmy ( Nancy ) of Summerside, Marcella ( Allan ) O'Keefe of Charlottetown & Sheila ( Ian ) Compton of St. Eleanors . Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Corey, Jonathan, Brodie, Matthew, Nicolette & Dylan, his great-grand children Taylor & Kaitlyn, a very special friend and companion Lucienne Gallant of Summerside , his daughter-in-law Connie ( Arsenault ) Ellis of O'Leary and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his sister Gertrude Webb of Charlottetown.
Besides his wife and parents, Howard was predeceased by his sons Gerard & Glenn, and brothers Leo, Gabe & Pius.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday April 4th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Sunday, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Howard's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
