Obituary of Wright, Ivan "Ivey" Clifford
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 of Ivan 'Ivey' Clifford Wright of Miscouche , aged 73 years. Ivey was born on February 19th, 1938 in O'Leary, P.E.I. to his late parents, Ira & Nina ( nee Shaw ) Wright.
Beloved husband of 50 years to Florence ( nee Gallant ) Wright. Loving father to Anne of Summerside and Joy ( David ) Larsen of Stanchel. Cherished grandfather to Michael ( Debbie) MacDonald of Calgary, AB., Alex, Dillon, Hannah & Jack Larsen of Stanchel. Loved by sisters & brothers Sadie Walfield of Ellerslie, Bessie ( Wilfred ) Campbell of Enmore, George of Collingwood, ON and Wilfred of Indian River. Brother-in-law to Kenneth ( Lil ) Gallant of St. Eleanors, Lois Cormier of Summerside, Eric ( Darlene ) Gallant of Mt. Albion, Marlene Wright of Summerside, Joyce Wright of Ajax ON, and Joan Wright of Coboconk, On.. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides his parents , Ivey was predeceased by his son Roger and daughter Darlene , brothers & sisters : Johnnie ( Georgina ), Raymond ( Lena ), Ruby ( Earl ) Ford, Layton Walfield, Norman, Alice ( Bill ) Trowsdale, Josie, Bloice , his parents-in-law Albert & Hannah ( nee Jeffery ) Gallant and his brother-in-law Elmer Gallant.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, March 18th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Visiting hours on Thursday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Ivey's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
