Obituary of Carver, Mildred Mary

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, February 25th , 2011 of Mildred Mary Carver ( nee McKinnon ) of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 92 years. Mildred was born on March 8th , 1918 in Spring Valley , P.E.I. to her late parents, Bernard & Mary (nee Brennan) McKinnon.
Beloved wife of the late Cecil Carver. Survived by her sister Jean Howard of London, ON., brother Jim McKinnon of Dorchester, ON., sister-in-law Faith McKinnon of White Rock, B.C. and brother-in-law Russell Lumsden of Canso, N.S.. Special aunt to Sharon Lee Keough, Cheryl Hellard, Debbie Sonier and numerous other nieces & nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mildred was predeceased by her sister Margaret Lumsden, brothers Sabinus (Ted) MacKinnon, Joe McKinnon & Emmett McKinnon.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, March 1st, 2011, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours for family only on Tuesday morning , 9 a.m. until time of funeral. Memorial donations in Mildred's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
