Obituary of Doucette, Laverne I.

The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, January 4th , 2011 of Laverne I. Doucette ( nee Myers ) of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of Toronto,Ont. , aged 66 years. Laverne was born on June 27th , 1944 in Duvar, P.E.I. to her mother Laurinda ( nee Gallant ) and her late father , Eddie Myers. Beloved mother of Emmanuel ( Joanne ) of Brampton, Ont., Elaine 'Lily' Doucette of Summerside and Cindy Doucette ( Floyd Bernard ) , also of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her 8 grandchildren Crystal, Cody, Amanda , Melanie, Michelle, Keisha, Kaneisha and Tyreese, her 1 great-grandchild Randy-Lynn and several nieces & nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters : Rufus, Patricia, Ted, Ralph, Donna, Linda, Gary, Darlene, Ronnie, Marie and Ricky. Besides her father Eddie, Laverne was predeceased by two sisters in infancy. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, January 6th , 2011, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 3:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Laverne's memory to the P.E.I. Lung Association or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. As Laverne was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 5, Summerside, members will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. .
