Obituary of Gallant, Donald " Moonie " Bernard
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, December 29th,2010 of Donald 'Moonie' Bernard Gallant of Slemon Park, P.E.I. and formerly of Halifax, N.S., aged 83 years. Donald was born on November 2nd , 1927 in Summerside, P.E.I. to his late parents, Arthur and Delima Gallant.
Beloved husband of Anne ( nee Gallant ) Gallant and loving father of Donna Gallant of Dartmouth, N.S., Anna Gallant of Slemon Park, Arthur Gallant of Halifax , N.S., Shan ( Erin ) Arsenault of Halifax, N.S., Alan Arsenault of Dartmouth, N.S., Michael ( Mary ) Gallant of Fredericton, N.B. and Peter Arsenault of Calgary, AB. . Also lovingly remembered by his special friends Jean & Camille Gallant, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his sister Theresa ( John ) Henry of Amherst, N.S. and his brother-in-law Jack Hopkins of Beaverbank, N.S. .
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother Stanley ( Hilda ) Gallant and his sister Gertrude Hopkins.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, January 3rd , 2011, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Sunday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Donald's memory to the P.E.I. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
