Obituary of Arsenault, William " Willie " Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, December 22nd , 2010 of William 'Willie' Joseph Arsenault of Summerside, aged 93 years. Willie was born on November 21st , 1917 in Egmont Bay, P.E.I. to his late parents Joseph & Lillian Arsenault. Beloved husband of the late Josephine ( nee Gaudet ) Arsenault and also his second wife, the late Aldona Arsenault.
Loving father of Edward ( Nancy ) of Sussex, N.B., Shirley ( Ivan ) Gallant of Rocky Point, Bea ( Charles ) Pye of Charlottetown, Johnny ( Val ) of Lloydminster, Sask., Junior ( Pauline ) of Dartmouth, N.S., Ann ( Gary ) Brander of Kensington, Anita( Albert ) Fuhrmann of Barrie, On., Geralda ( Danny ) Cameron of Summerside, Jim ( Vera ) of Summerside, Benny ( Tanya ) of Charlottetown, Susan ( Floyd ) Gavin of Kildare, step-son Alphie Gallant of Ontario and step-daughter Doreen ( Marcel ) Arsenault of Montreal, Que. . Also lovingly remembered by 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his one sister Pheobe Arsenault of Summerside.
Besides his parents and wives, Willie was predeceased by his daughter Rosa Arsenault and several brothers and sisters.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, December 28th , then to St. Paul's Church , Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Monday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Willie's memory to the P.E.I. Council of the Disabled would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
