Obituary of Rogerson, Olive "Joyce"
The death occurred at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, October 14th , 2010 of Olive 'Joyce' Rogerson ( nee MacDonald ) of Summerside and formerly of Elmsdale, P.E.I., aged 83 years. Joyce was born on February 13th, 1927 in Elmsdale to her late parents Albert & Hazel ( nee MacPherson ) MacDonald.
Wife of the late Richard Rogerson and loving mother of Sheila ( Ken ) Kenny and Cindy Martin all of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Shane, David, Christine & Regan and 7 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her first husband Harold Martin.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, October 18th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours for family & friends only, on Sunday evening 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Joyce's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
