Obituary of Tibbetts, Roy " Bumpy " Lyall
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by his loving family at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Thursday, September 23rd, 2010 of Roy 'Bumpy' Lyall Tibbetts of Summerside and formerly of Oromocto, N.B., aged 86 years. Veteran of World War II . Bumpy was born on April 7th , 1924 in Parrsboro, N.S. to his late parents, Lorenzo & Doris ( nee McLaughlin ) Tibbetts.
Beloved husband of the late Clara ( nee Gamble ) Tibbetts and loving father of Daphne ( Edward ) Nickerson of Summerside and Wayne ( Sandra ) of Oromocto, N.B. . Also lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren : Candy, Kevin, Shawn, Kim and Michelle , 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents , Bumpy was predeceased by sons Gary and Gerald, granddaughter Donna Marie Nickerson, sister Nina Pettigrew and brother Gerald Tibbetts .
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Sunday, September 26th for service in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 p.m. . Interment to take place at St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Oromocto , N.B. . Visiting hours on Saturday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Bumpy's memory to the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund or the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
