Obituary of Dugay-MacKinnon, Doris Mary

The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, August 8th , 2010 of Doris Mary Dugay-MacKinnon ( nee Bernard ) of Miscouche, aged 86 years. Doris was born on February 15th, 1924 in St. Louis, P.E.I. to her late parents Benjamin & Madeline ( nee Gaudet ) Bernard. Beloved wife of Howard MacKinnon and loving mother of Bernadette ( Ivan ) Curley of Slemon Park, Ronald ( Judy ) Dugay of Miscouche, Sonny ( Norma ) Dugay of Miscouche, Gary ( Julie ) Dugay of Fernwood, Clair ( Mike ) Moore of Miscouche, Florina ( Austin ) MacLeod of St. Eleanors, Bruce ( Barb ) Dugay of S'Side, Gerard Dugay of Ch'town & Michael Dugay of Miscouche. Step Mother of Ozzie ( Ruth ) MacKinnon, Earl ( Bev ) MacKinnon, Marjorie ( Keir ) Johnson, Norma ( Martin ) Kelly, Linda ( Wayne ) MacLennan, Joe ( Leah ) MacKinnon & Mary ( Paul ) MacKinnon-Walsh. Also lovingly remembered by her 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren & 28 great-step-grandchildren and several neices & nephews. Survived by her sister Rita Chaisson of St. Edwards, her brother Gerard Bernard of Toronto, ON.& her sister-in-law Kathelene Bernard of Alberton. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her first husband Emmanuel Dugay , her sisters; Judith Deagle, Maggie Ann Doucette, Ida Noonan, Mary DesRoches, Emily Repak & Olive Morrais, her brothers ; Alphonse, Isaac, Sissom, Joshua & Joseph Bernard, and her grandsons Ronald Dugay Jr. & Jason Dugay. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday August 12th , then to St. John the Baptist Church ,Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday evening only 6 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Doris' memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. John the Baptist Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated.
