Obituary of Bernard, John " Brian "
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, June 9th , 2010 of John 'Brian' Bernard of Summerside, P.E.I. , aged 60 years. Brian was born on August 18th , 1949 in Summerside , P.E.I. to his late parents Alyre & Pauline ( nee Gallant ) Bernard. He was the step-son to Katie Bernard of Miscouche.
Beloved husband of Judy ( nee Gallant ) Bernard. Loving father of Michael 'Skin' ( Amanda ) of Summerside and James 'Jamie' ( Jeremy ) of Moncton, N.B.. Survived by his brother & sisters: Barbara ( Billy ) Keough of Borden, Cathy Bernard ( Doug ) of On., Shelly Bernard of On. and Reid ( Colleen ) Paynter of Borden. Also lovingly remembered by his special young friend Morgana Lockhart. He will be missed by the children of his foster parents, the late Anna & Abbie Gaudet of Miscouche.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, June 15th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Monday. 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Brian's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. by members of the George R. Pearkes, V.C. Branch #5, Royal Canadian Legion, Summerside.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
