Obituary of Arsenault, Mary " Reta " Theresa
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday, June 7th, 2010 of Mary 'Reta' Theresa Arsenault ( nee Gallant ) of Summerside , P.E.I. , aged 79 years. Reta was born on April 9th , 1931 in Summerside, P.E.I. to her late parents Emmanual & Gertrude Gallant.
Beloved wife of the late Edmond Arsenault and loving mother of Barbara ( Jean-Louis ) Arsenault of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Christopher Pappas of Surrey, B.C., Marrianne ( Adam ) Pappas of Barrie, On. and Allysa ( Justin ) Pappas of Mississauga, On., her great-grandchildren Hailey & Jaxton Moore , 'special sons' Neil Cormier of Nepan, On and Leon ( Celine ) Cormier of Balmoral, N.B., along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Survived by her sister Irene Arsenault of Summerside and the following brothers & sisters-in-law : Eddie ( Reta ), Armand ( Margaret ) and Emma ( Camille ) all of St. Chrysostome and Yvonne & Gerelda Arsenault of Miscouche.
Besides her husband and her parents, Reta was predeceased by her brother Clarence Gallant and sisters Margurite ( Fred ) Richard, Tina ( Russell ) Stanley and Zeta Curll.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, June 10th, for funeral mass at St. Paul's Church, Summerside at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Reta's memory to the new East Prince Funeral Home Chapel Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
