Obituary of McKenna, John " Jack " Eldred
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 of John Eldred 'Jack' McKenna of Crapaud P.E.I. , aged 86 years. Jack was born on October 18th , 1923 to his late parents John Joseph & Emma ( nee McNeil ) McKenna.
Survived by his wife Marion ( nee McCarville ) McKenna and his children : Gladys Aitken of Toronto, ON., Donald of Charlottetown, Dianne ( Lloyd ) MacDonald of Borden, Wayne ( Betty ) of North Tryon, Faye ( Jim ) MacDonald of Borden, John ( Phyllis ) of Long Creek, David ( Elaine ) of Toronto, ON., Linda ( Gordon ) Howatt of Victoria, Deborah ( Dave ) Murray of N.B., Heather McKenna of Crapaud, Robert of Maple Plains, Joanne ( Darrell ) DiSano of Rose Valley & Maxine ( Andrew ) Paynter of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brother Edison & his sisters : Cora MacDonald, Shirley ( Erland) Cousins & Ruby ( George ) Matheson and his sisters-in-law : Verna, Helen & Florence.
Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his children: John-Blair, Joseph-Paul & Jacqueline Brown, his brothers: Everett ( Mary ), Victor, Ulric & Frank and his brother-in-law Preston MacDonald.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, June 9th, for a private funeral service in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in Tryon Presbyterian Cemetery. No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donations in Jack's memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
