Obituary of Paynter, Austin Blair
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Monday, May 31, 2021 of Austin Blair Paynter, of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 77 years. Austin was born in Summerside to his late parents George and Leola (nee Gallant) Paynter.
Austin is survived by his siblings, George (Bev) Paynter, Summerside, Norma (Gordon) Campbell, Ottawa, ON, John Paynter, ON, Andy (Maxine) Paynter, Summerside, PE, numerous nieces and nephews and his best friends Keir and Heather Arsenault.
Besides his parents, Austin was predeceased by brothers George (in infancy) and Clarence.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until the interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside, PE.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
