Obituary of Batchelor, Clair Winfield
The death occurred peacefully at the Clinton View Lodge, Kensington, P.E.I., on Monday, January 18, 2021 of Clair Winfield Batchelor, formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 82 years. Clair was born in Altona, MB to his late parents Archie and Mamie (nee Watson) Batchelor. Beloved husband of the late Jaqueline âJackie' (nee Boyda) and father of Garth (Sandra) of Hamilton, ON and Todd (Wanda) of Granville, P.E.I. Also remembered by his 2 grandchildren Carrie (Lyle) and Ronda (Jeff) as well as several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister Joan Irvine of Kelowna, BC. Besides his parents and wife, Clair was predeceased by brothers Norman, Donald, Glen, Allan, Bill and Blake, sister Delle, grandson Brett and niece Carol. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, where a private funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in Emerson, MB. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
