Obituary of Doucette, Patrick "Pat" Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, December 11th, 2020 of Patrick "Pat" Joseph Doucette of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 84 years. Pat was born in Miminegash, P.E.I. to the late Edmond and Julia (nee Wedge ) Doucette. Beloved husband of Jean Doucette (nee Chaisson) and loving father of Pauline Doucette (Daniel Enman) and David Doucette. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jessica (Jon) Gaudet, Codi and Tiffany Enman and his great grandchildren Erik, Ace and Thorin Gaudet.
Survived by his brothers Carl (Gladys) Doucette and Winston (Thelma) Doucette, sister in-law Eleanor Doucette and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Ralph Doucette, Aneas Doucette, Greta (Henry) Thibodeau, Bernetta (Basil) Chaisson, Elva (Melvin) Gallant, Melvin and Alfred Doucette (in WW2), twin brothers in infancy and an infant sister Alfreda.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Pat's memory can be made directly to the Wedgewood Manor.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
