
Obituary of Barry Earle DesRoche
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, of Barry Earle DesRoche of Summerside and formerly of Augustine Cove, PEI, age 76 years. Barry was born in Augustine Cove to his late parents, Frank and Phyllis DesRoche.
Beloved husband of Betty Banks and loving father of Matthew (Leanne), Phyllis (Darrell), Trisha (Reed) and Jason (Rosanne).
Also lovingly remember by his grandchildren Kayden (Nicole), Peyton, Sawyer, Celena, Patrick, Lucy, Sarah, Joshua, Jonathan, Samuel and Millie.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Derwin, Marlene (Larry), Judy, Nancy Lee, Harriet (Jimmy), Mona, Kelly (Gary), Gary (Carol), sister-in-law Muriel, brother-in-law Dave and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Phyllis, brothers Everett and Dale, sister Betty Lou, brother-in-laws Bill and Richard, sister-in-law Betty and his special fur baby, Zoey.
Barry's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring nurses and doctors at the Prince County Hospital who provided such good care to Barry over the past 6 months and also hospice volunteers.
A special thank you to the Paynter family for their love and support shown to us during Barry's illness. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside, PEI, until Monday, May 5th, where a funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 pm. Visiting hours prior to service from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Interment to take place at a later date in Cape Travers Cemetery.
Donations in Barry's memory can be made to PEI Human Society or the Prince County Hospital Foundation.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
