Obituary of Costain, Charlene Margaret
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, February 3rd, 2014 of Charlene Margaret Costain (nee Dougay) of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 49 years. Charlene was born on January 26th, 1965 in Summerside to her late parents Melvin and Mary (nee McMurrer) Dougay.
Loving mother of Logan Costain of Summerside. Survived by the following brother and sisters: Donna Lee (Bob) Grant of N.S., Marilyn McAvinn of Albany, Judy (Joe) Richards of Summerside, Carl McMurrer (Pam Gaudet) of Summerside, Elizabeth (Blair) Conway of Bedeque and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Charlene was predeceased by her brother Steven McMurrer and brother in-law Frank McAvinn.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, February 6th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St.Peter's Cemetery, Seven Mile Bay at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charlene's memory to the funeral expense fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
