Obituary of Grosaas, Elizabeth Smith
The death occurred peacefully with her loving son by her side at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, January 27th , 2014 of Elizabeth " Betty " Smith Grosaas (nee Lang) of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of Prince George, B.C., aged 89 years. Betty was born on March 21st, 1924 in Scotland to her late parents, John and Mary (nee Smith) Lang.
Beloved wife of the late Roderick " Rory " Butler and also her second husband, the late Karl Grosaas. Loving mother of Chris (Donna) Butler of Chelton, P.E.I.. Also lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, her sister Mae living in Scotland, her daughter-in-law Audrey Butler of Vancouver, B.C. and her very special and helpful friend Shona Fallon of Comox, B.C..
Besides her parents and husbands, Betty was predeceased by her son Lowell Butler and sisters Annie and Christine.
By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Betty's memory to the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
