Obituary of Milligan, James "Jim"
The death occurred peacefully at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 of James " Jim " Milligan of Borden Carleton, P.E.I. and formerly of Northam, P.E.I. aged 71 years. Jim was born on June 25th, 1942 in Summerside to his late parents James and Wilna (nee Toombs) Milligan.
Beloved husband of Dianne (nee Ramsay) Milligan and loving father of Kelly (Royce) MacDonald of Kinkora and James (Lisa) of Springvale. Also lovingly remembered by 2 grandchildren Mallory and Matthew MacDonald and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters Barbara ( Art ) Hiscock and Margaret (Don) Ross, brothers and sister-in-law William ( Peggy ) Ramsay and Fr. Paul Batchilder.
Besides his parents , Jim was predeceased by his sisters Elizabeth Stobbs and Susan Batchilder, brother Thomas Milligan, his mother and father in-law Elroy and Isabel Ramsay, brothers in-law Art Stobbs and Bill Douglas.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, January 20th , then to the Cape Traverse United Church , Cape Traverse for a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Jim's memory to the Shriners Travel Fund or Cape Traverse United Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday, 4 - 7 p.m.
Members of Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge # 15, Central Bedeque will hold a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
