Obituary of Croken, Mary Ida May
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, November 26th, 2013 of Mary Ida May Croken ( nee Gaudet ) of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 83 years. Ida was born on May 12th, 1930 in Miscouche, P.E.I. to her late parents Anthony and Eliza ( nee Gallant ) Gaudet.
Beloved wife of the late Louis J. Croken and loving mother of Diane Croken, Maureen ( Michael ) Sansano and Lois Croken all of Toronto, ON. Ida was predeceased by her son Neil Croken and daughter Janet Smith. Also lovingly remembered by her 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters : Edna Haining, Clarence Gaudet, Rose ( Gary ) Acheson, Joseph Gaudet, Delima Vatamaniuck, Martin Gaudet, Loretta Gaudet, Clifford Gaudet, Edith ( Wayne ) MacDonald and Linda ( Ken ) Sterling and also brother-in-law James Wyatt and sister-in-law Marjorie Gaudet.
Besides her parents, husband and children Ida was predeceased by her sisters Loraine Wyatt and Nell ( Carl ) Fitzpatrick, brother Leo Gaudet, sister-in-law Audrey Gaudet and brother-in-law Fred Haining.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, November 28th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Ida's memory may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Visiting hours on Wednesday, November 27th, 7 - 9 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
