Obituary of Gallant #NAME? Catherine
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, October 25th , 2013 of Catherine "Claire" (nee Hume ) Gallant of Summerside, aged 87 years. Claire was born on June 20th, 1926 in Waverley, Massachusetts, U.S.A. to her late parents Murdock and Marion (nee Beaton ) Hume.
Beloved wife of the late Sylvere Gallant and her first husband, the late Samuel Giddings. Loving mother of Glenn ( Janie ) Giddings of Ellerslie and Debbie ( Eugene ) Bernard of Kensington. Also lovingly remembered by her 4 grandchildren Tahnee, Aron, Sabrina, Kimberly, 4 great grandchildren Vincent, Nimue, Sebastian, Kyleigh and several nieces and nephews. Claire is also survived by her special step children, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: James Hume, Iris Gorman of U.S.A., Murdock (Lorna ) Hume of Montague and Margaret Hume of Ontario.
Besides her parents and husbands, Claire was predeceased by her brothers Ernest and Edwin, step son Barry Gallant and stepdaughter Shirley Sigouin.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no funeral service or visiting hours held. A private committal service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Claire's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
