Obituary of Bernard, Wanda Irene
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, September 23rd , 2013 of Wanda Irene Bernard ( nee MacKinnon ) of Summerside and formerly of Mount Pleasant, P.E.I. aged 88 years. Wanda was born on December 14th, 1924 in Mount Pleasant to her late parents Cornelius and Carrie ( nee Williams ) MacKinnon.
Beloved wife of the late John Bernard. Loving mother of Barry ( Gail ) Chappell of Chelton, Bryan ( Marie ) Chappell of Schurman's Point and daughter in-law Linda Chappell of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by her sisters Eileen Mitchell of Ontario, Grace Taylor and Glenn Stright both of Halifax, N.S. and her brother George ( Sonny ) MacKinnon of Ontario.
Besides her parents and husband, Wanda was predeceased by her first husband George H. Chappell, second husband Verno Arsenault, her son Terry Chappell, her sisters Janet MacArthur, Sybil Enman, Eunice Phillips, Myrtle Gallant, Roma Macklem, Irma MacKinnon, Inez MacKinnon and her brothers Robert, Edward and Keith MacKinnon.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. A committal service will take place on Saturday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m. in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Wanda's memory to P.E.I. Camp Gencheff or Trinity United Church, Summerside would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
