Obituary of Hippenstall, Joseph Wilbert
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday , December 29th , 2009 of Joseph Wilbert Hippenstall of Summerside, aged 83 years. Wilbert was born on April 24th, 1926 in Summerside to his late parents James & Eliza ( nee Gallant ) Hippenstall.
Beloved husband of the late Theresa ( nee Arsenault ) Hippenstall and loving father of Gary ( Yvonne ) of Lower Sackville, N.S. . Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Survived by his brothers James ( Sandra ) , Anthony ( Noreen ) and Eldric ( Lorraine ) all of Summerside and brothers-in-law Ernie Christopher and Lester MacAusland.
Besides his parents and his wife, Wilbert was predeceased by his brother Edward, sisters Elizabeth, Doris, Daisy and Mary 'Nenie' , brothers-in-law Wally Strongman & William Faulkner and sister-in-law Ethel Hippenstall.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, January 4th , 2010 for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment of cremains to take place in St. Malachy's Cemetery, Kinkora at a later date. Visiting hours on Sunday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Wilbert's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the P.E.I. Home Care Association would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
