Obituary of O'Brien, Ivan Robert
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, October 26th , 2009 of Ivan Robert O'Brien of Summerside, aged 69 years. Ivan was born on June 8th , 1940 in Alma , P.E.I. to his parents , Regrata ( nee Gallant ) of Summerside and the late Jarvis O'Brien.
Beloved husband of Donna Richards and loving father of Ricky of S'side, Peter ( Monica ) of S'side, Dennis ( Linda ) of Richmond and Darrell ( Glenna ) of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Richard ( Pam ), Alyssia, Brittany, Chase, Riley, Isabelle & Maddie ( Pepe's Girl ), his sister-in-law Barb O'Brien of S'side and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his brothers : Jack ( Yvonne ) of Piusville, Russell ( Jane ) of S'side,Norbert( Judy ) of S'side, Garth ( Faye ) of Emerald and his sister Myrna ( Al ) MacPherson of Fredericton, N.B..
Besides his father Jarvis, Ivan was predeceased by his brother Francis and also his brother Jarvis in infancy, daughter-in-law Tracey O'Brien, nephew Brent O'Brien and step-granddaughter Alysha Richards.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, October 29th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Ivan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Unit of the Prince County Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m..
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. by members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 5, Summerside.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
