Obituary of MacDonald, Mary " Phyllis "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday,September 8th, 2009 of Mary Phyllis MacDonald ( nee Mulligan ) of Summerside & formerly of Norboro, P.E.I. , aged 65 years. Phyllis was born on May 29, 1944 in Summerside, P.E.I. to her late parents Greg & Lucy ( nee Kilbride ) Mulligan.
Loving mother of Justin (Christine) of Ottawa, On. & Trish (Jim) Olsen of St. James, New York. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Ryan, Kelly-Ann & Kevin Olsen , her nephews P.J. & Michael Mulligan & many aunts, uncle & cousins. Survived by her brother Gregory ( Zita ) Mulligan of Summerside, P.E.I..
Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Paul Mulligan.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, September 10th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Phyllis' memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
