Obituary of MacFarlane, Nancy Grace

The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, June 28th , 2009 of Nancy Grace MacFarlane ( nee Shirky ) , of Fernwood, Bedeque, P.E.I. , aged 75 years. Nancy was born on February 9th , 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to her late parents, Louis & Inez (nee White) Shirky. Beloved wife of the late Douglas MacFarlane & loving mother of Peter (Carole) of Ch'town, Ranald (Melanie) of Fernwood, & Daniel of Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Ethan, Mary-Lynn & Oliver along with several nieces, nephews & friends. Survived by her brother & sisters Sylvia Heffner of California, Lois Johnson of Ohio & Richard of Illinois & her sister-in-law Constance Carruthers of S'Side. Besides her husband & her parents , Nancy was predeceased by her brother Wayne. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 then to Bedeque United Church, Bedeque for funeral service at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the North Bedeque Pioneer Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nancy's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Bedeque United Church or the Friends of Lucy Maude Montgomery would be greatly appreciated.
