Obituary of Hynes, Mary M.
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, June 18th , 2009 of Mary M. Hynes ( nee Gallant ) of Summerside & formerly of Sussex, N.B. , aged 89 years. Mary was born on April 16th , 1920 in Egmont Bay, P.E.I. to her late parents Antoine & Josephine ( nee Arsenault ) Gallant.
Beloved wife of the late John Hynes & loving mother of Hugh of Saint John, N.B., Edward, Michael, Paul ( Karen ) , Christine ( Jim ) Andrew, Mary Ellen ( Richard ) Sear & Frances Sear all of Sussex, N.B., Bob of Toronto, On., James & Peter of Calgary, Ab.,Tim of Antigonish, N.S & her daughter-in-law Mary Doherty of Saint John, N.B.. Also lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews & her niece & constant care giver Joyce ( Stan ) DesRoches of Wilmot Valley. Survived by her brothers & sisters : Millie Perry of S'side, Emma ( Robert ) McGraw of S'side, Alyre ( Zita ) Gallant of Montreal, Que. and Doris ( Elmer ) DesRoches of S'side .
Besides her parents & husband, Mary was predeceased by her daughter Mona Daly, sons Philip & Patrick , grandson Tom Daly and brothers & sisters Rosella, Benoit, Lucy, Andy, Sylvere & Jerome.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, June 22nd , 2009 , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in St. Jacques & St. Phillipe Cemetery, Egmont Bay. Memorial donations in Mary's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
