Obituary of Smith, Dorothy Mary
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by family & friends at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday, February 3rd , 2009 of Dorothy Mary Smith of Summerside & formerly of South Granville , P.E.I. , aged 80 years. Dorothy was born on June 6th, 1928 in South Granville, P.E.I. to her late parents, Samuel & Phoebe ( nee Axworthy ) Smith.
Survived by her sisters & brothers : Sadie Frizzell of Glen Valley, Bertha Frizzell of Winsloe, Brenton ( Ruth ) Smith of Rose Valley, Mina Lord of Peterborough, Ontario & James Smith of Ch'town. Also lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Helen Smith of Rose Valley & Ella Mayhew-Smith of Inkerman , along with numerous nieces, nephews & close friends.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Robert Smith & Cecil Smith & her brothers-in-law Roy Frizzell & Ivan Frizzell.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, S'side until Friday, February 6th, 2009 then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a private funeral service for family & friends at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley at a later date. Memorial donations in Dorothy's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the South Granville Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
