Obituary of Phillips, Blair Wendell
The death occurred suddenly as the result of an highway accident on Saturday, January 3rd , 2009 of Blair Wendell Phillips of St. Eleanors,P.E.I., aged 62 years. Blair was born on August 30th , 1946 in Summerside , P.E.I. to his parents , Wendell & the late Ruth ( nee Campbell ) Phillips.
Loving brother to Judy ( Norbert ) O'Brien of St. Eleanors and Brenda Phillips of Cornwall. Also lovingly remembered by his friend Joan DesRoches, his nephews Jason & Kevin ( Lisa ) O'Brien , his niece Amanda O'Brien , his great-nephews Aaron & Liam O'Brien and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.
Besides his mother Ruth , Blair was predeceased by his grandparents Aretus & Lina Campbell & William G. & Dorthea Phillips.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, S'side until Wednesday, January 7th , 2009 then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for funeral service at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Blair's memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society or the Cat Action Team would be greatly appreciated.
Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
