Obituary of Young, Emmett Joseph
?The death occurred suddenly at his late residence on Sunday, December 28th , 2008 of Emmett Joseph Young of Notre Dame. St. , Summerside , P.E.I. , aged 64 years. Emmett was born on January 25th , 1944 in Summerside , P.E.I. to his late parents George & Marjorie ( nee Gallant ) Young .
Survived by his wife Peggy of S'side , his daughter Lou of Ontario and his step-children Marie ( Todd ) Myers of Miscouche , Cathy ( Peter ) Robinson of Kentville, N.S., Mike Arsenault of Freetown & Kenny ( Faye ) Arsenault of Edmonton, Ab. . Also survived by his sisters Hazel Gallant of S'side, Pat ( Tabot ) Ross of Moncton , N.B. , Irene ( Anthony ) Gallant of St. Nicholas & Reggie ( Betty ) Young of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.
Emmett was predeceased by his parents Geroge & Marjorie Gallant & also her second husband Elmer Slavin , his step-daughter Tracey Arsenault & his brother Harold Young.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, December 31st , 2008 for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery , Summerside . Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
