Obituary of Arsenault, Ralph James
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. , on Friday, December 12th, 2008 of Ralph James Arsenault, of Freetown & formerly of Bedeque, P.E.I., aged 72 years. Ralph was born in Summerside, P.E.I. on February 15th, 1936, to his late parents, Hubert & Agnes ( nee Gallant ) Arsenault.
Loving father of Robert of St. Catharines, Ont., William of Freetown & Wanda ( Kevin ) Gaudet of Freetown. Also lovingly remembered by his grandson Matthew & his grand daughter Courtney Gaudet. Survived by the following brothers & sisters: Betty Murphy ( Don ) of S'side, Shirley Dickinson of S'side, Velda ( Wensel ) Harris of Chelton, Ruby ( Joe ) Jurkowski of Chelton, Nancy ( Joe ) Sonier of Hamilton, Ont., Douglas ( Bonnie ) of B.C., David of Halifax, N.S., Judy ( Danny ) Gaudet of Miscouche, Sally Arsenault ( Norbert ) of S'side & Blair ( Norma ) of S'side.
Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his brothers Leroy, Lorne, Harvey & Bobby and his brothers-in-law John Folland & (Chicken) Jimmy Snee.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, December 18th, for funeral service at the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Interment to take place at a later date in the Seven Mile Bay Cemetery. Visiting hours on Thursday, 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral. Memorial donations in Ralph's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
